Oxford Township Committee Meeting Synopsis for meeting held November 12, 2003 The regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Oxford was held on November 12, 2003 in the Township Municipal Building 11 Green Street, Oxford, NJ. The Committee discussed the infiltration problem at Spring Meadow, and directed the Township Engineer to investigate the problem. The Committee directed the Clerk to request White Township approve the 2004 Municipal Agreement under the same conditions as 2003. The Clerk will solicit bids for the 2004 recycling program. The rabies clinic for 2004 will be held on January 31, 2004 at the township DPW building, Mt. Pisgah Ave., Oxford, NJ from 2 to 4 PM. The Committee revisited several bills withheld on November 11, 2003 and approved same for payment. It was announced that the township will be given a Tot Lot by Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Hissim for the former Poronowicz property. It was announced that the Township received a $110,000.00 grant from the NJ DOT for work on Pequest Rd. It was Announced that a grant application was submitted for a Center of Place Grant for the parking lot in the rear of Wall Street. The Belvidere Avenue guide rail project will begin November 17, 2003 or shortly thereafter. The Star-Ledger was approved as the official newspaper for the Township of Oxford on a 2-1 vote. Three senior Girl Scouts and their leaders were present at the meeting and discussed possible projects they could do to beautify downtown Oxford in order for the to attain their Gold Awards. It was reported that large dump trucks are using Belvidere Avenue instead of Jensen Drive. The police will look into the matter. Ordinance #2003-8 (amendment to the 2003 Salary Ordinance) was passed on a first reading by title only, and will be heard on second reading public hearing on December 17, 2003 at or near 7:30 PM in the Oxford Municipal Building 11 Green Street, Oxford, NJ. |
